CU-TEP at Language Express

The CU-TEP exam preparation course at Language Express focuses on all of the core elements of the CU-TEP exam. The CU-TEP (Chulalongkorn University Test of English Proficiency) is an English Proficiency test covering the key areas of English language proficiency including Listening, Reading, and Writing. The CU-TEP assesses the general English knowledge of students who wish to enter Chula University’s undergraduate and post-graduate programmes.

1. Listening focuses on comprehension of prepared monologue, a short dialogue and a complex dialogue.
2. Reading focuses on both close reading and passage based reading
3. Writing focuses on Sentence Completion, Error Identification and essay writing

The maximum of CU-TEP score is 120, students need to get at least 60 in order to pass the test. Students wishing to study in Chula’s International programme must first pass their CU-TEP before attempting the CU-AAT or SAT. CU-TEP is similar to TOEFL, but there is no Speaking test and it is considered slightly easier than TOEFL and CU-AAT.

CU-TEP Course at Language Express

• Course Duration - Language Express recommends students do at least 20 hours for each subject. We divide each subject into 2 sections; 16 hours for text book based learning and 4 hours for test based practice. This method ensures that students get a rounded learning experience and are able to both learn the necessary skills needed to pass the exam and then put them into practice using previous test papers.

• Teachers - Language Express offers only Thai teachers for the CU-TEP class as the content in the CU-TEP textbook is in Thai. All of our teachers are extremely experienced in teaching CU-TEP and are highly qualified graduates or post-graduates from renowned universities in Thailand.

Who needs to take the CU-TEP exam?

Students who want to study either undergraduate or post-graduate courses at Chulalongkorn University have to take the CU-TEP exam and successfully pass their exam in order to apply for entry.
