The GED exam

The GED (General Education Development) exam is a high school diploma accredited by US government. The GED includes 5 core subjects; Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Language Arts, Reading and Writing (and is completed in English). Upon completion the GED can help provide a pathway into a wide range of universities in both Thailand and abroad.

Students need to be at least 16 years old in order to take the GED test. Once students pass their test, they can get the GED diploma accredited by US government when they turn 17. However, Language Express suggests those who are under 16 should prepare for their GED test and plan for future entry to university as soon as possible.

In addition, not only teenagers can take the GED test, adults who never received a high school diploma can also study with Language Express and attain this advanced qualification. A GED diploma can be a vital qualification to aid you while applying for better jobs or entry into higher education.

GED Course Information

• Course Duration: Each subject requires 20 or 30 hours study and each subject is divided into 2 parts; 16 or 26 hours for guided tuition from the text book and 4 hours of test preparation and mock tests to help track progress. This method ensures that students have both the knowledge and practice skills necessary to achieve the best results exam.
• Class size: Each group class has a maximum of 8 students. We also offer private classes (one on one) and semi-private classes (2-3 students) as well.
• Teachers: Language Express offers both native Thai teachers and native English teachers for our GED course. For private or semi-private classes, students can choose to study with Thai or English teachers. Whether Thai or foreign our teachers are all well qualified and experienced in teaching GED to a high standard.

GED Timetable

Language Express runs GED classes starting at the beginning or the middle of every month, each cycle takes 5 weeks to complete. Students can enroll 1-5 subjects on any cycle. Below is an example of our GED timetable.

What universities that accept GED?

Currently, in Thailand, every international university accepts GED diploma including Chulalongkorn (Although some of the faculties accept only IGCSE), Thammasat, Mahidol, Silpakorn, Srinakharinwirot, Kasetsart, ABAC, Rangsit, and Bangkok University. Moreover, foreign universities in the US, and Canada and some other countries also accept GED diploma.
