OUR HISTORY

FOUNDATION

Language Express was founded by Michael Ratcliff and Simon Cavell in 2009. Between them they have more than 40 years experience in international education.

JAPAN

The Language Express story began in January 2000 when the founders established their first language center in Japan. They opened this school in a restored 1920's sake warehouse beside the Yodo River in Osaka. The school, which still flourishes today, teaches English to children and adults and now has branches in Kobe and Toyonaka city as well.

Simon and Michael

AUSTRALIA

In 2005 the pair founded Greenwich College in Sydney, which specialists in English language courses for Overseas Students, Teacher Training, and IELTS Preparation. Each year more than 5000 students graduate from a Greenwich course. Greenwich students come from more than 35 countries including: Korea, Thailand, Japan, France, Italy, Poland, Spain, Brazil, Venezuela, Turkey and Saudi Arabia. If you would like to study in Australia, please talk to us about Greenwich College.

THAILAND

The duo's Thailand chapter began when they were invited to open an English centre at Wat Phra Bhuddapat (Saraburi) three years ago. This non-profit school offers free English language courses to monks and local people. For their part, Michael and Simon flew Thai and Laotian teachers from the school to Sydney for TEFL training.

BANGKOK

In February 2009 Language Express opened in Bangkok. This school provides some of the best education programs from around the world in a spacious, well-equipped school, directly opposite BTS Phloenchit. Together Michael and Simon have educated more than 12,000 students from dozens of countries over the past 10 years. So come join Language Express in Bangkok and experience the difference.
