SAT Information

SAT (or Scholastic Aptitude Tests) is a test accredited and administrated by the US College Board.. Students wishing to do a Bachelor degree in international universities both in Thailand and USA are required to take the SAT.  Currently in both Thailand and the USA, the SAT is considered as one of the most important tests to get to the university.

The SAT consists of a number of subjects:

1. Mathematics focusing on Arithmetic, Algebra, and Geometry
2. Critical Reading focusing on Sentence Completion and Passage-based reading
3. Writing focusing on Essay and Multiple-choice questions about Sentence errors

The maximum score for each subject is 800. Therefore, the overall score from 3 parts is 2,400. In order to apply for some many universities, students are required to get at least 1,000 -1,200 (from only 2 subjects such as Maths and Critical Reading). Most of the universities in Thailand will consider the overall score from just 2 parts, but some universities, especially in USA will consider your score from writing as well.

SAT Course at Language Express

• Course Duration - Minimum of 20 hours per subject. We divide the course content into 2 parts; 16 hours for general knowledge and 4 hours for test reviews and guided practice. Some students might have to do more than 20 hours depending on their level of knowledge.

• Teachers - At Language Express, we have both Thai and native English SAT teachers. Students can study with Thai teachers in group classes while native English teachers are available for both private and semi-private classes.

What universities need SAT?

Many of the best faculties in Chulalongkorn, Mahidol, Thammasat, Srinakharinwirot universities require SAT for entry. Language Express suggests that students have a look through university requirements and plan what tests you need to take in advance.

Who should take SAT test?

Students wishing to pursue bachelor degrees in international universities need to take SAT test. You need to submit a high school diploma along with an SAT score to the university. There are no rules or any restrictions about age of student allowed to do SAT. However, Language Express suggests that students should have basic knowledge of at least equal to high school in order to take the SAT course as the content in it covers information in high school areas.
