Study IGCSE at Language Express
IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) is usually taken by 14 to 16 years old students to prepare for higher academic work including AS Level, A Level, and International Baccalaureate (IB).
The IGCSE exams are designed for students with different levels of ability; therefore, students can select to take “Core” (easier exam papers) or “Extended” (more difficult exam papers).
Core: A full overview of the subject. Students will achieve grade C, D, E, F, or G.
Extended: Extra topics will be added. Students will achieve grade A, B, C, D, E, F, or G
In Thailand, the Ministry of Education accepts IGCSE completion as High School Equivalency (Mathayom 6), and it can be used for admission to universities such as Thammasat University, Mahidal University International College, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok University, Assumption University (ABAC), among many others.
The Ministry of Education requires:
- Students need to achieve at least grade “C” in five IGCSE subjects.
- Of those 5 subjects, 2 of them must be Mathematics and English.
Nevertheless, some colleges may require students to take specific IGCSE subjects in order to apply to their programs.

Generally, there are two periods of testing each year:
(1) May/June
(2) October/November
In 2011, test fee is 5,000-8,000 Baht per subject. If applicants apply after the normal entry, they will be charged 3,000 Baht per subject for late entry application.
