The Language Express Thai Language Books
A SELECTION OF OUR THAI LANGUAGE BOOKS
Language Express have designed a series of Thai language textbooks that will speed your learning.
All the units in each Thai Conversation Book are based around high use vocabulary and structures, so you learn the words and structures you need to communicate quickly and effectively. These are arranged in dialogues, so you learn how to build single sentences up into short conversations.
There are five levels in the series and each level’s book contains 24 units. The units are grouped into blocks of four, all on a common theme, so that they recycle the vocabulary and structures. There is either a review lesson or a test every fourth lesson to consolidate your learning.
All the books are written in Thai, but there are transliterations so you can learn to speak Thai before you have mastered the Thai alphabet. There are also full translations in the back of the book, and a handy grammar reference indicating the grammar points in each unit.
The work books also contain 24 units. Book one focuses on learning the Thai alphabet and tone/ work so that you learn the correct pronunciation as you learn the letter. We typically learn three consonants and 2 vowels in each unit. Book two focuses on learning letter combinations, phonics and the rules by which letters are grouped. In the third level you learn to read and written words, in the fourth level sentences and in the fifth level paragraphs.
The Language Express “Step System” of learning is unique to Language Express, as are the textbooks used in class. Unlike so many of our competitors we don’t believe language learning should be shrouded in arcane mysteries like “ 500 hour silent periods”, “automatic language transference” or “the initial shock of learning” Our textbooks are well designed and clearly written so you learn the language in a logical, systematic fashion. Every lesson has an understandable goal and orderly steps to achieving it.
